Deposits Now Due PDF Print E-mail
Written by Collin

Hello Again!

Just a quick note to let you know that we are now taking deposits for MITTS.

The deposit is the tiny sum of £20 Sterling. This is required to secure your place on the run and unless circumstances are exceptional this deposit is non refundable.

This is payable either in cash or cheque to Bev (The P&SMOC & MITTS treasurer) or by sending it to me to give to Bev. If you want my address please email me at collin (at) miniminimini.com as I will not put my address on an open website.

Final costs are still not confirmed but we are looking good for £175 per car. This will include:

  1. Run Pack with all directions and driving team information.
  2. T-Shirt for the driver (we'll need to know the size ahead of time. Getting a medium t-shirt for an extra large person (like me!) will not do anybody any favours!
  3. Run plaque for the car.
  4. Window sticker for the car.

T-shirts and window stickers will be available to purchase separately soon, costs and ordering will be announced when we have finalised designs.

The Run plaque will be strictly controlled and available only to the person driving the vehicle registered to go on the run.

If you haven't registered on this site yet, please do so! It will allow us to contact you all directly to pass out and request any information we require.

Thanks for reading!

New Museum In Arras PDF Print E-mail
Written by Collin

Arras The Daily Mail has published an article about the World War I tunnels underneath Arras.

Here, beneath the northern French town of Arras, years of careful excavation have finally unveiled the secret city where 25,000 British and Commonwealth soldiers lived just yards beneath an unsuspecting enemy.

Canteens, chapels, power stations, a light railway and even a fully functioning hospital were all established in this chilly labyrinth where I am standing with freezing water dripping on my head.

Scarred by the devastating losses on the Somme in 1916, British generals came up with a new strategy ahead of their next major offensive at Arras in 1917

The full article is in the link at the top, but if we have time I would love to get to the The Carrière Wellington Museum and have a look. Apparently trips are available around the Wellington Caves, although they are only for 20 people at a time.

As soon as we find more information we will put it up and hopefully adjust the schedule. Entrance to the museum is 6.50 Euros each and this will need to be paid on entry.

Poster So, is this your first visit to the Minis In The Trenches website?

Yes? Then welcome! Have a look at The Event (also on the top right) and register if you think you are interested. Registered members of the website will have access to even more information about the event, as well as receiving regular updates from the organising team.  Be quick though, we only have 20 spaces for this year's event and 17 are spoken for already. We are aiming to keep the cost of the event under £200 - including Ferry and Hotel, driver's event t-shirt, run plaque and car sticker, but not including petrol, food or beer money.

Been here before? Then what are you waiting for? Get your name on the list and join us!

Registration for the event is only open until April 30 2008, by which time a £20, non-refundable deposit must be paid to the event. Either cash or cheque to P&SMOC will be acceptable.

The balance for the event must be paid by August 31 2008 to give us time to book and pay for the hotel and ferries.

If you have any questions before signing up, please email us at mitts [at] miniminimini.com.

Registration will close on April 30 and whether we have two or twenty runners, we WILL be going!

We'd love to see you at the event, so get yer name down!
